1.  General Aspects
Gaozhi Company, founded in July 1992, is situated in the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park and is regarded as one of the first batch of Hi-Tech enterprises approved by the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee.
Gaozhi is located in No. 283, Qin Jiang Road, Xuhui District, with a registered capital of ten million yuan. The comprehensive office building, built independently by Gaozhi, covers an area of 4.5 mu with a construction area of 6,000 square meters. This building, equipped with sophisticated facilities, is the base for research and development. Currently Gaozhi has a staff of 70 members. All, young and skilled, specialize in electronics, computer science, communication network, satellite communication equipment and integration of optics-mechanics-electrics. Among the members, 75% are college graduates; 55% are competent technicians and all have the pioneering research ability. With the support of the local authorities and sticking to scientific attitude, realistic working style and original creative mind, Gaozhi Company, since its establishment, has made great contributions to the development and application service of computerized satellite communication. The superior quality of the products and excellent performance of service make it win the confidence and acclaim from all levels of society. Besides, it has attained ISO9001 Quality System Certificate.

2.  Major achievements
2.1 Participation in the satellite communication network construction for the Shanghai Stock Exchange, establishing, up till now, the biggest one-way computerized digital broadcast system in China. In the “digital satellite broadcast system for the Shanghai stock Exchange” and the satellite two-way exchange system accomplished mainly by Gaozhi Company, the application technology is at an advanced level in the world. Since the system was put into use in April, 1993, it has been expanded to over 3,000 users over China, except Taiwan province. It brings benefits to stock market. This fruit of scientific research by Gaozhi was the first prize winner of the Shanghai Science and Technology Advancement Award in 1994 and was listed in the nation’s new product development plan in the year 2000.
2.2 Research and completion of satellite transmission system of newspaper layout, enlarging the effect of Shanghai newspapers over China and abroad. The satellite layout transmission system designed and developed by Gaozhi has been widely used by many news agencies in Shanghai since April, 1994. Since the application of this system in the international satellite layout transmission of “Xinmin Evening Post”, the edition is published synchronously in America and Shanghai, winning high praise from oversea readers and achieving good results in the society.
2.3 Provision of various kinds of satellite technique service to satisfy the needs of the society. The nation-wide BP message network through satellite communication developed by Gaozhi expands rapidly with accurate message and timely transmission, which wins applause of the users throughout the country.
2.4 Full play of the digital satellite news gathering truck designed by Gaozhi in the live telecast activities of STV and OTV in recent years. This achievement can be used in on-the-spot live telecast of important social activities of the TV units. Moreover, it can be widely applied to the fields of mobile emergency, remote medical diagnosis, finance organizations, public security, disasters recovery and handling of beak-out events. The achievement has been listed in the “Hi-Tech Class A Item” by the Shanghai Municipal Government in the year 2000.
2.5 Establishment of an instant response service system according to international practice, continuously raising the level of service offered to users of various circles. Since 1995, Gaozhi has enhanced the cooperation with relevant notable satellite companies in the U.S. and has set up a satellite communication technique service center, putting into service of 48-hour response. The field engineers are on quick response to solve the problems on site, offering excellent after-sales service to users everywhere.

3.  Future Development
The products of IP digital satellite broadcast system turned out by Gaozhi have brisk market because of its quick network composition, speedy result, sophisticated techniques and brilliant prospects for future development.
